‘The Photographer’s Eye'

Have you spent money on a camera but are frustrated that you can’t use it properly? Bought good equipment and want to maximise your investment? Then consider a 1 day photography workshop with Timothy Alexander.

‘The Photographer’s Eye’ workshop provides opportunity to spend a day learning the basics of good image making. As a photographer I am most influenced by the art of photography and its creative possibilities, rather than the science and theory, believing that the most important tool is the photographers eye, not their camera - although a solid understanding of camera basics is useful and will be covered throughout the day.

All workshops are limited in size, with a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 participants - allowing for lots of personal attention and intensive learning. I try to keep things simple, believing that photography is often over complicated and is learnt best by getting out and about and making photographs for yourself.

My aim is to develop what you see and to improve your ability to capture it. To move away from using the ‘Auto’ mode on your camera, becoming more familiar with and confident in the use of Aperture and Shutter Priority modes - to quickly transfer theory into practice through hands-on experimentation. The workshop is also a great opportunity to connect with and learn from other aspiring local photographers.
